The Center for Service in Action (CSA) at Cal Poly connects students with meaningful community service opportunities that complement their educational experience, strengthen their understanding of diversity and social responsibility, and develop skills to become ethical and knowledgeable leaders who contribute to a global society. The CSA cultivates reciprocal service and learning partnerships between the university and community partner agencies, serving community-based organizations and governmental institutions seeking University support to address unmet community needs.

Out of an abundance of caution and care, the Center for Service in Action (CSA) has adopted virtual operations for the foreseeable future and likely for the duration of fall quarter 2023 and winter quarter 2021. All CSA staff are telecommuting for most of the work week, and we are checking our voicemails and the general email below. We will have minimal staff working in the CSA for our weekly operations during fall and winter quarters.

Please check back frequently, as we will be posting service activities in which students can engage according to the unique needs of our Community Partner agencies and the populations they serve during these unprecedented times. Please know that only those activities that are allowed during the SLO County mandate to shelter in place, where social distancing is possible, and the risks of infecting or being infected are greatly reduced will be posted here. Students can text 'CPService' to 22828 to get signed up for our e-newsletter, which will keep everyone posted on service opportunities in the weeks and months to come.
